Climate 

In terms of climate Kavarna municipality is influenced by the proximity to the Black Sea and this influence is transmitted to about 60 km inland. At the same time the characteristics of the climate are formed under the influence of cold air masses flowing unimpeded from north and northeast. The average annual rainfall is 465 mm, with a maximum in November and a minimum in July and August. In winter the snow cover lasts for about 16 days, as moving from the coast inland the number of days increases sharply.
