Accommodation facilities

According to data provided by the National Statistical Institute for 2012, in Balchik municipality (the own and its resort and villa areas) there are totally 98 accommodation facilities for tourists – 25 451 beds are offered mainly in hotels and private lodging. Family hotels are 24. In addition, 13 houses, 1 camping and 14 bungalows are registered.

The region is traditionally visited by Bulgarian and Romanian tourists, as the latter are particularly interested in the Palace built by the Romanian Queen Marie. In recent years, according to data of the municipality, the number of Russian, Czech and Polish tourists has increased.

In the region of Balchik there are also two villa areas that are popular among tourists: Shepherd’s Beach and Izgrev villa area.
