Besides starting from the town of Balchik or another settlement in the municipality, tourist routes can start in the city of Varna and the resort complexes in the region. Tourist proposals related to alternative forms of tourism reveal ample opportunities to diversify the traditional product offered in connection with marine recreation tourism.

Considering tourist routes in Balchik municipality, it makes an impression that there are such that lead outside the municipality, even outside the country. They have been developed under the project for crossborder cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania and are five. They connect the town of Balchik and the town of Constanta, focusing on issues of identity and age of the participants. In view of this, the routes are for children and for adults, historical, religious and ecological.

Additional opportunities for specialized routes are developed on the area of Golden Sands Nature Park. They present the biological and landscape diversity in the park and are suitable both for walkers and bike tourists; can be practiced by adults and children, as well as by people with special needs. Along the routes there are places for recreation – shelters and pavilions with benches, tables and fireplaces, near ancient fountains. Specially adapted points reveal panoramic views to the sea, park and resort complex[3].

The guests of Balchik can obtain basic and supplementary information from the Tourist Information Center in the town[4]. The services of the center are free. They are mainly related to the provision of up-to-date information on accommodation, dining and entertainment, transport links, location and working hours of the cultural sites, attractions, tourist operators and agents. Tourists can find advertising materials and submit complaints, warnings and suggestions regarding tourism to the competent institutions.
